In search of the Holy Grail

My Experiences from the shop floor . . . This happens to be one of my objective for quite sometime, share my experiences as i go along . Dont know what i am going to write but have decided to write something once in a while to share my understanding of what i been learning since i started this new role, i dont know who would be reading this but - My writing is CRAP pretty much layman.

My company happens to be in the verge of implementing 5 S system - The Japanese model for work place organisation where 5 'S' - stands for five Japanese words starting with 'S'.. ohhh i can talk about 5S's for hours ha ha... but thts not what i want to share

I happen to be called a person who's theoretical and who dont understand the shop floor way of doing things !! So my shop floor supervisors decided not to have my help to put forward a presentation on 5 S as a part of communication to the shop floor.Ohh it was a terrible feeling - Where did i loose that confidence ? Just because i came out of University and who looks into concept a bit deep and advocates perfect implementation right the first time ?? Is that where i am lost ? or am i that stupid University KID ?

Its funny enough to look back how sensitive i am at simple issues... Just because someone told me i look at things deep doesnt mean that i am stupid Univ kid ??? That is my plus point ! I know how to analyse things and do it right the first time but one should also understand - Business doesnt wait for 100% analysis - One should know how to draw the line and say i have done enough for my business need - Implement it and take it as it goes - ha ha - Thats nothing but continues improvement ?

Change is a big word for any organisation - YES I AM IN SEARCH FOR THAT HOLY GRAIL how can i impact this organisational culture and achieve my targets.

Learning no 1 - Try to understand your business need - Where to draw the LINE - Enough lets get it done !
